Pleased to meet you!

about me

Hope you know my name!

Managing expectations

Just to manage expectations; on my pages you will not find any “adult” materials, only pretty good documentary and travel photography (at least in my humble opinion). So in case you are looking for nudity, please do not bother to join!

Secondly, this site was not developed with “speed” in mind. While building the site, I choose to use bigger and thus more detailed photographs to show you. The downside is off course that sometimes it can take some time to load the pictures.

Frequently asked questions

1.2.3

Why did you develop this site?

I guess for following reasons:

  • I do believe I created some photographs that are worth sharing with more people than only my direct family and the foto club. But that is up to you off course!

  • There are some Projects on this site of which I am very proud and I wanted to share.

  •  I never tried to develop a site and it felt like a nice challenge to build a good looking and function rich site.

Why do you require registration for the site?

When developing the site, I wanted to include options to leave feedback and to discuss. Having a registration mechanism in place helps in making this more secure and, for me most importantly, makes sure the feedback is not anonymous. Secondly, I expect to add new stories and picture sets to the site. Registration makes it possible to update you on new content via an email message. As such registration is free of charge and, offcourse, you can opt-out of emails in the account settings on the member pages.

How do I become a friend of the site?

Please enter the information in the form you will see when clicking the [Register as friend] button. Indeed, there is some double information (first name and full name (= first name + family name)). I use these for different purposes on the site, as it is quite complex to split these, I hope you will forgive me. You can enter a  nickname and small picture that will be used on the feedback and messaging options on the pages. All information can be reviewed on the member pages.
A password will be sent to you by email after registration. For security reasons, I have chosen for quite long passwords, needles to say you can store this password in your browser for future use. After registration, you can choose to login using a social account (for now Google only though).

What login options do I have?

After registration, a password will be sent to you by email. You can offcourse use this when logging-in. When you prefer using your Google account to login, you can go to the Member Account page to enable this.
When your password is lost, you can enter your email address in the login page and click the “Forgotten?” link, then you will recieve an email with the password.

Do you sell prints of your photographs?

Yes, I do! As such not so much to get rich, but more to recover some of the costs of the site.
In the various stores on the site you will find options to buy stuff. This includes, low cost, PDF downloads, signed prints, cost effective poster prints and printed books. All products, apart from the downloads, are printed-on-demand, I do not hold any stocks and tried to keep everything as costs effective as possible.

Answer

How will you deliver prints and books?

The PDF files you can download directly from the site. Signed prints, I will ship via PostNL.
Posters and books are sent by drukwerknodig.nl, they currently use DHL to do that.

Answer

How can I pay for books and prints?

For products I deliver myself, you can select PayPal or the various options on the Stripe platform (credit cards, Apple Pay, Bancontact and IDEAL). When ordering Posters and Books, I use drukwerknodig.nl because their prints are beautifull (and cost effective). Payment and shipphing is handled by them.

What will you do with my personal data?

I limit the storage of you personal data to the minimum, information I need to store though:

  • Your name and email address for access and to be able to send you login data.

  • I will periodically send emails on updates to the site. I try to add content to the site on a regular basis to try and keep your interest up. In the member menu, you have the option to opt-out of these emails.

  • When you order a signed print at the site (which I personally print and send), I need to have your home address and it will be will be stored for reference. In the member menu you have the option to blank out you address yourself. Needless to say; please only do that after your have received the print ;-).

  • When ordering a PDF download or Signed print, I will store the IP-address you used to order for reference.

  • Payment details (except the fact that payment took place) is not stored. Payment is handled by external providers (Paypal and Stripe). Orders (for posters and books) are fulfilled by an external provider, they will also handle the payment process using a trusted payment platform.

  • I reserve the right to delete messages and feedback (in the member section), I find inappropriate. Please note that all, also the private, messages sent on the site can be viewed by me as well.

  • I will not sell or share user or order data.

  • When I would decide to include tracking on the site or use user data for other purposes than this site only, I will inform you upfront so you can opt-out when you would want to do that.
